Crusader players Ryan Crotty, Colin Slade and Adam Whitelock along with new Highlander player James Paterson have recently returned from Colorado, USA where they were involved in holding a very successful coaching camp for young aspiring players and coaches. According to the camp organiser, John Paterson the camp was a huge success as the Crusaders are viewed as the best team in world Rugby.

Crusader Coaching DVDs Released

This year has seen the development of a number of DVDs showing many of the skills and drills used in the Canterbury/Crusader environment.
The Crusader Series DVDs (link to crusaders dvds) are focused on key elements of the game and are presented by Crusader or Canterbury Coaching staff using Crusader or Canterbury players to demonstrate the skills.

John Haggart headed to Japan to attend the Sugadaira rugby tournament in August 2009.
As an ex coach of Japanese company team Sanix, John was well versed in Rugby protocols and spent much of his time meeting with University teams. These teams visit the ski resort, Sugadaira where hundreds of University teams visit to hold their pre-season training camps.
